Who Is DDG?
DDG is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, YouTuber, and online streamer. He started making videos in 2015 while enrolled at Central Michigan University, and he later dropped out. He built his early audience through vlogs, pranks, and gaming content, and he has kept several YouTube channels running over the years, covering both his music and his daily life.
His music career grew out of that online fame. In 2018 he signed a partnership deal with Epic Records, and he is also the CEO of his own label, Zooted Entertainment. This mix of internet personality and working musician is one reason he is so widely searched, and it is also why people are curious about how young he was when each big moment happened.
DDG’s Birthday and Zodiac Sign
DDG celebrates his birthday every year on October 10. Anyone born on that date falls under the zodiac sign Libra, so he is a Libra. He uses the name PontiacMadeDDG online as a tribute to his hometown, which shows how much of his identity is tied to the city where he was born in 1997.
Because his birthday comes in the second week of October, his age changes at a predictable time each year. Between January 1 and October 9 he is one year younger than he will be after his birthday, which is why the answer to “how old is DDG” depends on the month you ask. Right now, in late September 2026, he is still 28.
DDG’s Age at Key Career Moments
Looking at his age at each milestone shows how early he found success. He was still a teenager when he began posting videos, and he was in his early twenties when his music broke through.
His biggest hit so far is “Moonwalking in Calabasas”. The song was released on July 24, 2020, through Epic Records, which means DDG was 22 at the time. The remix featuring Blueface entered the Billboard Hot 100 and later earned double platinum certification from the RIAA. For a rapper who started out as a YouTuber, that was a major step into the mainstream music charts.
A year later he tried something completely different. In June 2021 he made his boxing debut against Nate Wyatt at the YouTubers vs. TikTokers event and won by unanimous decision. He was 23 years old, and the fight showed how willing he was to move between music, streaming, and live entertainment events.
DDG’s Family Life and Age
DDG’s personal life has drawn as much attention as his music. He was in a relationship with actress and singer Halle Bailey from 2021 to 2024, and the couple has one child. Their son, Halo, was born in 2023, when DDG was 26. Some websites wrongly call Bailey his wife, but the two were partners and not a married couple.
His parents, Tonya and Darryl Granberry Sr., have appeared in his videos over the years. That family presence is part of why his audience feels close to him, and it explains why so many searches about his age also include questions about his family.
Why People Search “DDG Age”
Several kinds of readers land on this topic. Some are new fans who just discovered his music. Others are trying to settle a debate about how old he is compared with his partner, other creators, or their own age. Many simply want to know if a birthday is coming up. Whatever the reason, the answer is short: he was born in 1997, he is 28 now, and he will be 29 next month.
It is also worth knowing that “DDG” is a common abbreviation that can point to other things. For example, DuckDuckGo, the privacy-focused search engine, is often shortened the same way. If your question was about the search engine rather than the rapper, note that this article is only about Darryl Granberry Jr.
How to Calculate DDG’s Age Yourself
You can check his age at any time without relying on a website. Subtract 1997 from the current year, and then subtract one more year if today’s date is before October 10. For example, in 2027 the calculation gives 30 if you ask after October 10 and 29 if you ask before it. This method always works because his birth date is well documented, and it keeps you safe from outdated pages.
